*Roles & Responsibilities* The team is a client focused IT team
responsible for the Global trading lifecycle within the investment
management division. The business processes encompassed are: investment
decision, order generation, trade execution, trade confirmation and trade
settlement.
The scope of the team is to provide detailed, in-depth escalation support
of the systems as part of a three-tier model, with the solutions team being
the third tier. This nonprocedural support includes identifying and making
code changes within the change management process, break/fixes and
application maintenance. In addition, the team is responsible for:
§ Developing enhancements and tactical solutions for end users of the
systems.
§ Developing internal tools to assist the application support group in
supporting the systems.
§ Assisting the application development teams with their global projects.
§ Client relationship management
The systems that support the business processes include multi asset class
trading systems, compliance engines, matching engines and straight through
processing applications. The Solutions team is responsible for these
functions in Asia, Asia-Pacific, Europe and North America.
The responsibilities of the team include the support and relationship
management of the global operations teams and business teams, provide
coverage to the Morgan Stanley Investment Management headquarters in New
York.
The Solutions team will work closely with IM’s Application Support,
Operational Risk and development teams. We expect all members of the team
to develop the breath and depth of knowledge across Investment Management’s
multi platform trade management, execution and settlement systems.
The Candidate will possess strong technical skills, is a team player,
detail-oriented, skilled-communicator (written and verbal), is able to work
within a diverse and global environment, is organized, and is a
self-starter. He / She should have the ability to understand the complexity
of software-systems, specify, estimate, and, to deliver
application-components is required. A good understanding of the support and
development lifecycles is necessary.
The role will require a high degree of client interaction and business
knowledge; the candidate should be interested in learning about the
business and gaining the required knowledge. No previous business knowledge
is required, but an understanding of the financial services industry and
specifically the asset management business would be advantageous.
