Client is looking for candidates with at least 2 years for Software QA
Testing. Resumes must specify SOFTWARE as the QA Testing experience. Also
the client has requested the experience be more than just a small part of
the candidates’ role – it must be the main responsibility. Additional
features/content has been added to one of client’s Legal Software products.
In this role the workers will be executing test cases, reporting results
and documenting issues.
They will be using existing test cases, so the workers will not need to
create their own test cases. Candidates must confirm that they are very
experienced with the latest and greatest of the MS Windows Desktop and
Server Operating Systems. We strongly prefer candidates with experience
using HP Quality Center, but we are flexible on candidates who do not have
legal industry knowledge. There is only a small web presence with this
software so basic knowledge of internet is only required. There will be
quite a bit of imaging done and so having working knowledge of Ghost or
other imaging software is relatively important. Workers will be a part of a
16 person, close knit team. Soft skills will be very important to this
manager to ensure the workers will fit in well with his team. They have
the traditional waterfall method.
*Job Description:*
We are looking for a highly motivated, self starting individual to join our
technology team. As a Software QA Engineer, you will perform various
duties related to software quality assurance. You will be required to
perform manual test model validations (e.g., expected versus actual
results, document defects, etc.) as well as develop test plans (e.g.,
testing conditions, test data requirements, expected results, test scripts,
etc.).
In summary, you will follow existing software testing methodologies,
coordinate findings with developers and interface with other teams related
to software development and implementation (including but not limited to
technical support, technical writers, user acceptance testers and software
developers).
*Required Skills:*
* Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
* 2 plus year experience in software testing
* General knowledge of software testing concepts and high attention to
detail
* Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Desktop and Server Operating Systems
(Install and configure), Microsoft Office, Internet Browsers (IE, Firefox),
Ghost (or other imaging software) is required
* Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team
environment
*Job Responsibilities:*
* Perform manual testing
* Execute testing assignments, document test results and enter issues
into a defect tracking system
* Maintain appropriate test documentation including Quality Plans, Test
Plans, Test Requirements, and Test Cases
* Collaborate with other team members
* Actively participate in meetings with developers to re-create and
correct defects
* Help identify areas for team or process improvement
This position requires a candidate who is self-motivated and self-directed
with the ability to work within a skilled team of software QA Engineers.
The successful candidate will have good analytical and problem-solving
skills, including a high degree of attention to detail. Knowledge of the
legal industry and HP Quality Center is preferred but not required.
