Here's the Job Description Position: Oracle DBA Location: San Diego CA The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of Oracle DBA experience working in a Very Large DB Enterprise Environment, or 7+ years of Oracle DBA experience in other environments. This candidate must have Oracle 10g / 11g RAC expertise on the IBM / AIX platform. We are looking for an Oracle DBA who has experience building new RAC database environments on AIX, as well as having the expertise to perform major revisions to existing RAC environments. Additionally, the successful candidate will have sufficient people skills to: a) Work well on a high-performing project team; b) Excel under the pressure of delivering quality work amid aggressive schedules; c) Start and complete project- related tasks with minimal supervision; d) Articulate ideas professionally in both writing and verbally. Linux Exp. a Plus! Candidates will be responsible for following This DBA will be supporting a large program with several project teams. On a typical day, one can expect to do data refreshes, build additional RAC and non-RAC Oracle environments, and ensure the health of all of the project database environments. In addition, the DBA will troubleshoot problems, respond to project requests, tune the database and SQL statements. Periodically, the DBA may be called on to provide off-hours support, or assist other Oracle DBAs on this or other projects. Finally, the DBA will be called on to ensure the success of the work streams from the database perspective.
