* * * * *Business Analyst w/Cognos* *Location: Reston, VA* *Duration: 6 months* *Interview: 2 phone interviews / on-site, in-person interview (mandatory)* * * *Must have's :* This individual will be responsible for gathering and defining business processes, requirements, and problems and synthesizing these findings into a comprehensive solution. The candidate must have previous experience within the Telecommunications field. Key Responsibilities • Understand business context and problems and communicates them clearly in written and oral format. • Conduct interviews with management and clients representatives to gather requirements and document detailed client needs. • Work with the client to understand the design and functionality requirements. • Create presentations and reports to document recommendations and deliver them to the senior client teams. • Perform detailed analysis of complex business processes and requirements and proposes solutions that demonstrate a thorough understanding of technical solution delivery. • Compose user manuals, technical references, release notes, and other customer facing technical documents for software and hardware products. • Develop test plans, test cases, procedures, and documents given business requirements and design documents. *Required Experience* • 5+ years of experience in documenting business requirements, specifically within the cell sites and towers environment • Prior experience in an IT consulting environment with a focus on business analysis • Prior experience in the telecommunications industry required Previous experience in the Data Warehouse space is required. The candidate will be working on a recommendation document for the notification piece of the Cognos application. They will be working with multiple developers and the client to research options for the notification of reports. Whether it is best to use Cognos, SQL or a customized application.
