Duties and Responsibilities: Accountable to: • Interpret business requirements and define technical alternatives, tools, and approach • Develop, test, implement and document the technical solution to address the defined business requirements. • Work with other team members to define effort estimates, time tables and project plans. • Participate with the development team and IT staff as appropriate in the design of solutions. • Collaborate with other technical areas to integrate across tiers, platforms, and responsibilities. • Ensure that expected application performance levels are achieved. • Plans and conducts module and basic integration testing • Manage technical aspects of application to ensure timely and effective implementations • Understand and comply to Project Life Cycle Methodology in all planning steps Principal Contacts: Scope of the position will include interfacing with all levels of internal Covance employees and senior leaders. May also include dealing with external Covance customers, particularly during audits and customer site visits. Language Skills Required: • Incumbent is required to speak, read and write English Education/Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in appropriate discipline is preferred. Certified technical professional in relevant technologies. Experience Required: 8 or more years of relevant experience in 2 or more IT disciplines is required. Is considered an experienced and seasoned professional. Experience in enterprise-wide level application development. Technologies: *C# .Net** .Net Remoting Concepts Windows Services VB 6.0 COM .Net Interop SQL Oracle Database, MS SQL Server and Informix are used. * 24x7 support - 1 week on call and 2 weeks off call 24x7.
