Job Title: Java Websphere Application Server Administrator Location: Troy, MI Duration: 6+ Months * * *Skills:-* WebSphere, Backup, Recovery, Clustering, Windows 200x Server, Linux server, IBM server, WebSphere Application Server, DB2 Server, x86 based servers Job Description: This position will require more than traditional Java application server administration skills and will require branching out into other areas of the Infrastructure spectrum. *Looking for someone with the following skills: * Experienced WebSphere Application Server Administrator with a background in identifying and resolving issues. Experience with other Java Application Servers such as JBoss and/or Tomcat. Experience with IIS and other Web Application servers, such as Apache. Strong communication skills to work with multiple development and infrastructure team members. Strong experience with configuration and troubleshooting connectivity to DB2 and MySQL. This resource would be expected to: Be available to field questions and perform diagnostics and/or fix issues as needed. Work in 24x7 weekly rotation for on-call support. Work with our existing WebSphere resource to transfer as much knowledge as possible prior to his leave. Assist with our migration from our current WebSphere/DB2 platform to our new JBoss/MySQL environment. Support our development, test, QA and production Java application server instances The role of the members of the Infrastructure Engineering team is to proactively maintain the server and desktop infrastructure across multiple locations to ensure high availability of mission critical applications. Ability to efficiently resolve issues at the server and desktop levels is critical. In addition to maintaining the database environment, the Java Application Server Administrator will be responsible for recommending and implementing technological improvements and supporting the team in delivering mission critical projects. Job Responsibilities: Work with the Director of IT to maintain high service levels across the company. Willingness and aptitude for working with various new infrastructure technologies as needs arise. Work with other internal and external infrastructure engineers to maintain mission critical services and applications. Assist in supporting domestic sites and 50+ servers. Work closely with the Application Development team to deliver business critical projects and maintain high service levels. Job Requirements: *Minimum of 4 years experience with strong Microsoft and Linux server background.* Strong experience of Microsoft server technologies, which should include the following: Windows 200x Server Experience in Linux server technologies.
