EMC will provide client with a managed residency responsible for
maintaining and performing daily operational tasks of the Backup
environment; a functional steady-state team leveraging EMC ITIL operational
best-practice processes, frameworks, and policies to ensure the environment
is running efficiently and effectively. EMC will provide ongoing
recommendations and Best Practices from a technical and operational level
and will proactively watch for and perform necessary preventative
maintenance.

*Day to day:*
*The detailed tasks assigned to the EMC Managed Resident for Backup
Operations resource may include the following:*
ü Sharing of operational responsibility for backup systems administration
with the Storage/Infrastructure Manager
ü Daily administration activities of the backup environment (NetWorker,
Avamar, Data Domain, Netbackup, TSM, and other backup technologies)
ü Performing change management in the backup environments in accordance
with change management policies
ü Assisting in preparation for host based migration tasks,
consolidation/replacement of backup applications or implementation of disk
based backup solutions.
ü Responsibility for preparing backup software for any storage projects,
if applicable
ü Maintain customer Run Books.
ü Generating regular operations reports using supplied tools
ü Provide recommendations for technical and operational improvements
