Position: Polycom Video Support Engineer


*Work Location: Boston, MA (Onsite)*


Duration: Long Term


JD:



   - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering (or
   equivalent).  Master’s degree in IT preferred.
   - 10-15 years telecommunications and/or engineering experience
   - Relevant industry certifications in one or more of the following
   preferred: Polycom CVE (certified video conference engineer), Cisco
   CCNA/CCIE, Microsoft MCSE, IBM/Lotus Notes, Broadsoft and others
   - Experience in designing the technical solution proposed to customers
   and working directly with Sales and PGS teams
   - Experienced in the development of content (technical and scope of
   services) for RFP/RFI proposals
   - Experienced in working with 3rd party vendors and channel partners to
   implement complex solutions
   - Proven track record of 5+ years of experience in designing, installing
   and maintaining large, mission-critical IP networks and systems
   - Ability to influence at executive management level; strong client
   relationship management, analytical and problem-solving skills
   - Ability to multi-task and handle several projects and proposals
   simultaneously



This individual would need to spend time on the Polycom Tier 3 Help Desk in
order to gain the Polycom solution and hardware knowledge that is necessary
to be successful in the Professional Consulting environment.  That said,
they would grow into the consulting role and ultimately become engaged in
the following:



   - Designing the technical solution proposed to customers and working
   directly with Sales and PGS team
   - Alignment of prospect requirements to service delivery capabilities
   - Owning the development of content (technical and scope of services)
   for RFP/RFI proposals
   - Proposing standard solutions with out-of-the-box thinking for
   non-standard bids
   - Accountability for the technical solution sold to customers
   - Creation of clear and concise hand off (transition package) from Sales
   Support (if needed) to the PGS team or acting in the role of PGS sales and
   creating the ‘to be sold’ recommendation
