Storage Admin /Hitachi Experience

Rate: Best Possible

Duration: long term 

Location: NYC

 

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

 

Track SAN provisioning to assist Project Managers with project storage
requirements

Open Change Requests for new servers or any changes to production
environment.

SAN storage provisioning 

Submit fiber cabling requests for new servers or tape drives

Perform zoning for new servers, ISL's (Inter Switch Links), or tape
drives/Rezoning for failed HBA's.

Monitor all Directors for port/HBA failure.

Check logs on EFCM (McData switch management tool) or SAN to investigate
performance or failover incident.

Forward dumps, configurations, etc to Hitachi TRC to analyze problems.

Create SAN Clusters (multiple servers sharing the same storage), share
storage, create dedicated LPARs for designated servers.

Microcode upgrades for Storage Subsystems

Microcode upgrades for Directors and Switches

On call 24x7 for problems, emergency storage issues, failed equipment, etc.

 

Suggested Experience & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work
experience Preferred: external certification in relevant field of expertise
