administration

· Experience with client interaction for requirement gathering
· Successfully performed architect roles especially multi-tier
environments
· Experience with OE DBA in multiple operating systems

· Experience with OE installation and database environments creation
· Quality Assurance experience – defining and executing test cases
· Experience with OE version upgrades and migration

· *Desired Progress Version: OpenEdge 10.x*
· *Desired OS Platform: Different flavors of Unix e.g, HP UX, AIX,
Sun Solaris, IBM Aix etc. and Linux*

*Experience Details*
· All Progress database administration functions including
definition, maintenance, and support in a large production environment in
an enterprise network, spanning multiple geographical regions preferably in
a SAN environment.
· Database administration, manage and support all Production, QA
and Development environments.
· Database design, architecture, implementation in an enterprise
scale
· Experience in creation and conversion of Databases in different
languages (including double byte).
· Manage and monitor database backups and data growth. Refreshing
QA and Dev environments from Live. Operational knowledge of database backup
/ replication softwares like EMC, Veritas etc is a plus.
· Database Performance Tuning.
· Should be able to manage, train, recruit and motivate high
performance team to deliver technical services
· Experience in Database Dump and Load and Progress upgrades
· Experience in code deployment, compilation and trouble shooting
of issues relating to it. Providing support to the Development Team.
· Should understand complex Unix scripts and be able to develop new
scripts
· Installation and configuration experience of Progress and .Net
UI.
· Experience in configuring and administering Progress WebSpeed
· Should be fully conversant in Unix Shell Scripting and should be
proficient in writing shell scripts for database administration and
monitoring. Knowledge of Progress 4GL queries is a plus.
· Security administration in OS / Progress, user access definition,
user access management, monitoring and maintaining security of the
Production environments. Experience in handling 3rd party audits e.g. SOX
compliance audits.
· Develop and improvise solution monitoring and maintenance reports
· Progress products – Web speed, appserver, namerserver and DBA
