Job Roles: AIX System Administrator Skills 1. AIX System Administrator responsible for executing daily service delivery of planning, organizing, evaluating, troubleshooting, installing and tuning of multiple large AIX systems in a centralized data center environment. 2. Strong emphasis and demonstration of administration skills will be evaluated in the following areas: Administration skills with large IBM/AIX p5 and p6 Pseries systems including p595, p570 and p550 systems; 3. LPAR configuration administration and experience; 4. HACMP, VCS, VIO, Virtualization, Micro-Partitioning, administration and experience 5. SAN experience in a multi-fabric, multi-path fiber channel environment of Cisco 9509 MDS switches; 6. Experience with large IBM ESS8xx, DS81xx, DS83xx, EMC Clarion and CX380 units utilizing a multi-tiered storage design; 7. Disaster recovery experience including data replication technologies 8. Tivoli Storage Management (TSM) tape backup experience and processes utilizing multiple IBM/LTO libraries; 9. Patching and scripting skills 10. Strong knowledge of OS fundaments for AIX 11. Practical experience in IBM Network Installation Manager (NIM), Logical Volume Manager (LVM), NFS, performance monitoring utilities and other core UNIX commands 12. Experience in SCSI, SSA, LTO and DLT tape drive and automated tape library technologies 13. Solid understanding of disk system concepts (RAID design, LUN creation, data replication) is needed 14. Experience writing scripts and procedures for day-to-day operations 15. Preferred working experience in middleware support like IBM Websphere. Job Description 1. Installs, configures, maintains and performs system integration testing of IBM AIX based operating systems, related utilities and hardware 2. Responsible for troubleshooting AIX-based hardware and software problems 3. Monitors systems activities and fine tunes system parameters and configuration to optimize performance and ensure security of systems 4. Performs capacity analysis, monitors and controls usage of disk space 5. Develops procedures for routine admin including backup/restore, shutdown & start-up 6. Provides recommendations for improving the server environment, such as capacity thresholds, security gap, patch levels and hardware recalls 7. Responsible for data center operations 8. Maintain and management of data centres 9. Coordinate with service provider for issues and incidents related to critical Server outages, SEV 1 issues and RCA's 10. Coordinate with OEM vendors 11. Testing and ensuring Servers and peripheral devices are ready for hot stand-by 12. Work with Command Center, Service desk team for issue resolution & problem management 13. Strong verbal and written communication skills. 14. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 15. Ability to effectively work on and prioritize multiple concurrent projects. 16. Self-motivation and team-player attitude.
