*Job Title: SAP DBA*
Work Location: Natick , Boston
Duration: 2 years
Rate (USD): $50/hour
Relevant Experience (Yrs) : 4+ years
Technical/Functional Skills : 4+ experience in
managing SAP databases in production environment with good communication
and co-ordination skills .Candidate with onsite-offshore model experience
is preferred
Roles & Responsibilities : SAP DB
MANAGEMENT
• Database Monitoring
• Any Ora-600/774 Errors
• Opening/Managing vendor Case with Oracle(database)
• Database Recycle
• database statistics
• DB custom monitoring scripts (available space, D/R time
behind, etc)
• DB Partitioning
• Adding, changing, or deleting a database user or role
• Creating new database objects/indices/schemas
• Database reorganizations
• Database structure changes (ie move data file, resize temp
space)
• Development database refreshes (dev to dev, prd to dev)
• Rebuild an existing index in production
• Database parameter changes
• Database patches and upgrades
• Database replication change
• BCV refreshes of development environments
• SRDF refreshes of development environments
• Adding a Datafile
• Extending a datafile
• Archive log deletion
• Monitoring for DEAD LOCK issues and Notifying the BASIS team
PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT / BREAK-FIX / APPLICATION
TROUBLESHOOTING
• Application Issue/Performance Troubleshooting (root cause
unknown)
• Performance issue analysis & root cause determination
• Performance trending analysis
• Opening vendor Case with SAP
• SAP Application Monitoring
• Cluster resource offline/offline/frozen monitoring
• Backup Monitoring/Database Monitoring
SAP INTERFACES
• Interface changes - changes to an SAP interface
• Changes to archiving architecture (software, servers, storage)
• Creation of new and management of existing unix scripts
HIGH AVAILABILITY / DISASTER
RECOVERY
• DR Rebuilds/DR Failover/DR Test
BACKUPS
• Ad-Hoc Backups
• DB restore of databases (RMAN)
• DB restore of databases (BCV/Tape)
• Manage off-host backup configuration
• Perform test restores of production databases 1-2x yearly to
ensure backups were successful
Generic Managerial Skills: Candidate with onsite-offshore model experience
is preferred .Candidate should have good communication and coordination
skill as he needs to work closely with business users and team members at
offshore
