Face to face may be required. ROLE DESCRIPTION: As a QE Engineer within Test Operations, you will be responsible for managing test execution, monitoring, triaging and debugging of vsphere/ESX features. You will work closely with test engineers and developers to help ship products with very high quality. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Take full operational ownership of set of regression tests including execution, monitoring, triaging, debugging, optimizing and measuring and improving effectiveness of the suite of tests • Help improve quality of the product by identifying bugs in the product • Manage hardware assets for the set of regression tests • Capture and report key metrics to convey health of codebase • Work closely with development engineering to resolve defects in a timely manner • On time delivery of test deliverables, project tracking, status reports REQUIREMENTS: • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field with 3 or more years direct related experience • Must have strong analytical and problem solving skills with ability to work independently and be able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks • Prior test operations experience – test execution in production environment • Experience quality engineer covering QE lifecycle testing. • Familiarity with unit and functional level testing • Functional testing experience with storage (preferred) and networking. • Strong technical experience in: • Operating system fundamentals (task scheduling, memory management) • Basic systems administration (installing and configuring operating systems and hardware) • Strong understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems • Proficiency in Python and/or Perl and shell scripting. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills DESIRED SKILLS: • Minimum user level experience with VMware products primarily vSphere / ESX.
