*Platform: *UNIX,LINUX, Windows NT,
*RDBMS*: DB2/UDB,DB2 Z/OS
*Languages: *Shell scripting, gawk scripting, C on Unix, PL/SQL,
Pro*C/SQL*C.
*Tools: I*MS, Progress, Informix, DB2/Visual Explain, DB2 backup and
integration tools.

*Mandatory Technical/Functional Skills*
· Excellent communication skills, work ethics and the ability to
work well in a team or individual environment are a must.
· Monitors DB/2 production servers for potential problems.
· Minimum 5 years DB2 DBA experience on z/OS
· Database administration including system builds, DB2 catalog and
system knowledge, reorgs, runstats, a lot of SQL and thread performance
analysis between application and database
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability
to document work
· Helpful to have Bachelor's degree in MIS or CS, relevant DB
platform and/or certification
· Extensive knowledge of platform specific core database and
operating system technologies
· IMS database support experience is a plus
· BMC tools for IMS and DB2 zOS is a plus
· Providing support to System Administration (SA) in database
installation, instance creation, instance upgrade and version
migration.
· Designing system storage structure and planning future storage
requirements (design & analysis of file systems, logical volumes, raw
containers)
· Design, analysis and creation of new databases (analysis about
number of database partitions, available memory, database size, database &
database manager configuration options).
· Federated database server creation in order to allow access of
another databases (DB2 or non-DB2) inside a DB2 database.
· Managing Database user privileges (granting & revoking
permissions after proper analysis & approval).
· Database performance tuning and troubleshooting & fixing problems
faced by application developer
· Query tuning for the problematic queries sent by application
developer or identified during database monitoring
· Database monitoring (free space in tablespaces, event monitor
outputs, security audit reports, performance reports etc.).
· Database backup & recovery (offline & online backups ? Full,
Incremental & Delta Incremental). Database cloning using redirected
restores.
· Developing tools using shell/AWK scripts to automate various
database administration jobs.
