*Title*: *: Release Engineer* ** *Duration*: *6-12 month(s) * *Location*: *San Jose, CA * * * *Skill & Job Description * Manage one or more medium complexity aspects of Client Smart Services application releases or train as a member for the Release Engineering Organization. Assists senior Program Managers/Leads in the identification, planning, and management of day-to-day release activity including commit and milestone reviews. Duties include: • Work closely with Engineering and Product Development team to develop effective CM strategies for new and existing products • Plan, schedule and implement release projects • Oversight and development of Build and Release process • Maintain and automate build processes • Manage control branching and merging of code • Monitor Unit Testing across the board and working with Development Managers to ensure test cases pass with industry standards • Create and Maintain complete environments for current and post releases • Develop user documentation The successful candidate will also possess the following background, skills, and related business and technical knowledge: • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field • 5+ years of work experience in Software Development/IT/QA • 3+ years of experience with Build & Release of enterprise or web based applications • Strong knowledge of Software Configuration Management (SCM) and Change Management • Understanding of Web Server, Application Server and Data Base Server • Experience with deployment of applications on multiple platforms • Windows and Linux cross platform experience • Ability to manage system issues and bugs using standard software issue management systems and version control tools such as SVN,PVCS,CVS. • Experience with build automation tools like Maven • Deep understanding and experience with developing an installation /deployment architecture. • Hands on experience with pearl, shell scripting * ** ** * Thanks and Regards, Arjun/InfoTech Spectrum Inc.
