Working closely with internal/external clients, program/product managers,
and software development teams, the Business Analyst is a key facilitator,
acting as a bridge between the client, project stakeholders and the
software development team. The Business Analyst is both the business
requirements and functional specifications source and the business
communication liaison source in the requirements phase of a project. The
Business Analyst ensures that specifications are written unambiguously such
that they are both implementable by development and support acceptable
requirements to test case ratios.****
*Qualifications:*****
These are specifics for our role, over and above basic BA responsibilities:
****
1. Bachelor degree in a Business, Information Systems, Computer Science
discipline or equivalent technical work experience required ****
2. 7 years business analysis, technical experience, technology
implementations and/or project management with an enterprise software
development team ****
3. Experience with business & functional requirement elicitation,
requirements documentation, and requirements management ****
4. Direct customer interface experience (working with client directly on
project tasks; managing client expectations) ****
5. Candidate is experienced and proficient in both Agile and Waterfall
methodologies: ****
1. able to present independent stories for use by Agile team ****
2. able to present classic req layout for Waterfall ****
6. Experience working with a system that is heavily integrated with
multiple other upstream and downstream systems ****
7. Proven ability to quickly learn new business domains and technical
applications, driven to gain complete understanding of business need &
culture ****
8. Experience using Microsoft Office tools in a work setting (Word,
Excel, Power Point, Visio) ****
9. Ability to work to stated Pearson Technology and business goals
without heavy supervision ****
10. Proven ability to communicate with customers with minimal requests
for clarification, responses, or updates ****
11. Proven ability to recognize impacts and present roadblocks, with
solutions, early on in project requirements gathering ****
12. Ability to work with technical teams ****
13. Experience working with B2C eCommerce strongly preferred ****
14. Technical coding experience preferred ****
15. Additional experience as Agile Product Owner a plus ****
16. Experience creating cost benefit analysis & comparison analysis a
plus ****
