*Day in the Life:*
- Production and Development Support
- Develop procedures for database monitoring, maintenance, backup,
recovery and automated alerts based on server thresholds and events
- Develop maintenance regimes
- Establish standards and procedures
- Create and implement security models
- Support development and production
- Server, query, application performance tuning
- Logical and physical database design
*What Gets You the Job:*
- 7-10 years' experience
- Solid MS SQL Server and Sybase DBA experience
- In-depth knowledge in building infrastructure ("setting up shop") for
large databases
- In-depth knowledge in different disaster-recovery and warm-backup
schemes, procedures, and implementations
- Data Center Migration experience
