Web services: Soap, Json, xml, binary (Hessian/Protocol Buffers) Messaging: JMS (ActiveMQ or MQ Series) Strong database querying skills, SQL Hibernate and iBatis Maven Source Control: CVS or SVN Ideally capable of basic UI design in HTML PLUS: Fixed Income Managers like generalists who have used different tech stacks, guys with some excitement about what they do (if I find blogs, etc), and always a plus if financial experience.
