Business Intelligence Architect Location: Chicago, IL Length: 6-12 months Interview :phone Project description: In order to make a thoughtful and careful selection of a long-term product the firm will be conducting a Proof of Concept exercise with one or more vendors so they can demonstrate the capabilities of their product in meeting our requirements. We are seeking supplemental resources in assisting with the management, analysis and selection of the 3rd Party Product that we will further develop as a Product offering. Technologies required are .Net, SQL Server 2005/2008, Industry Standard Business Intelligence Products, Data Warehousing/Data Mart design, Business Systems Analysis, Project Management. For this project, you will be supporting the evaluation of a 3rd party vendor product to be utilized in meeting end-user Ad-Hoc Reporting needs. You need to be well versed in various BI tools and experienced in utilization of BI tools as an Ad-Hoc reporting mechanism. You will work with our infrastructure architects, DBA’s, System Administrators and Software Engineers to understand the current Product offering and data-structures/repositories that the tool is intended to augment. You must have the ability to communicate both verbally and via documents and diagrams with both technical and non-technical people as well as different technical groups. You will have to work with these diverse stakeholders in determining the best tool that meets all requirements in the most cost-effective manner. Required Skills: i. Minimum of 7-10 years of in-depth knowledge of Business Intelligence tools, data-warehousing, data mart technologies, technology design architecture for prototyping and modeling ii. Minimum of 5 years of work experience in execution of Vendor evaluations and Proof of Concept activities iii. Solid Leadership experience in managing large cross-functional teams and the flexibility to influence people at a variety of levels internally and externally iv. Strong written and verbal communications v. Computer Science Degree or Technical equivalent, MS a plus vi. Minimum 5 year experience with various database technologies (ie SQL Server, Teredata, etc) vii.
