Sr. Storage Engineer 6 Months—extendable up to 24 months
Location: Denver, CO PREFER LOCALS Duties: · Responsible for maintaining enterprise level storage infrastructure in a large financials services firm. Designs, plans, implements, administers, controls and provides support and optimization of Storage Area Networks (SANs) and pooled storage systems in coordination with other IT teams and related functions. The work will be a combination of both onsite in Denver and remote. Looking for a Senior resource with strong EMC Storage (CX, DMX, VMAX, VNX), HDS (AMS, VSP), and SAN (Brocade) skills Responsibilities • Responsible for planning, systems implementations and configurations related to storage installations. Performs host-level tasks needed to access new storage. Assists other departments with system restores, tape back-ups and troubleshooting. • Creates and manages Storage Groups. Allocates Storage to Systems. Produces Weekly Storage Capacity Report • Collaborates with support teams in the Systems Management, Applications Development, Network Operations, Telecommunications and PC/LAN areas to optimize storage use • Manages backup policies and schedules, tape devices and system client configurations. Restores and recovers data as requested. Facilitates off-site storage of tape • Resolves Storage performance issues (availability, data migrations and replications) and advises end users • Assists in writing technical and operational management documentation (system design and engineering documents, operational runbooks) • Completes support tickets in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) • Responsible for benchmarking and tuning server hardware and software for optimal system performance • Requirements: • 5-7 years of Storage administration experience • Experience in a mixed environment consisting of EMC storage technologies ((CX, DMX, VMAX, VNX), HDS (AMS and VSP) and Brocade fiber. • UNIX OS experience • Provide assistance in escalation and tracking of trouble tickets as they are opened with the support organization • Strong experience from an operation perspective (I.E.
