Role: Websphere Administrator Columbus Ohio Duration 6+Contract Websphere Administrator, you will act as subject matter expertise and provide support for Consumer banking Web Services (Middleware) administration on Unix/Linux/Windows platforms. You will assist with capacity planning, administration, troubleshooting issues and performance tuning of J2EE AppServers like Websphere Application Server and Tomcat. Responsibilities: • Configure and administer Java Application Servers like WebLogic, WebSphere, and TomCat on heterogeneous platforms (UNIX, Linux, and Windows). • Lead the support of production service requests, performing routine administration, and supporting hardware and software infrastructure. • Works closely with clients, vendors, PAC, and other technical staff to identify and resolve complex issues or problems that impact the middleware environment. • Consults with clients and other technical staff on complex middleware maintenance issues. • Provides administrative and middleware technical support to application development teams. • Create WAS scripts to automate WAS deployment and administration including application, upgrades/patches. • Analyze and tune WebSphere Application Server (WAS) for optimal performance including database and repositories communication. • Perform WAS installation and configuration for various applications including enabling security and Single Sign On (SSO) with various repositories • Researches, evaluates, and recommends new tools and technologies that falls under Middleware domain space. Provide capacity planning and manages performance of the middleware environment. • Provides Tactical Response support on rotation basis - Trains and mentors lower level systems engineering staff • Provide 24 X 7 support as part of Oncall rotation and performs other duties as required. Qualifications : • Previous (3-6 years) experience as an administrator J2EE AppServers like WebSphere Application Server, Tomcat (FAST) administration on Linux/Unix platforms. Knowing on Windows platform is a plus. • 2+ years and excellent knowledge of AIX/Mainframe and DB2. • Experience with capacity planning and performance management tools (Jprofile, Eclispse, PMAT, IBM Support assistant) and concepts. • Applications Operational Knowledge - Extensive knowledge and experience using the system with a clear understanding of operational and procedural aspects as well as the applications running on UNIX and WebSphere • Experience in administering Business Objects is a Plus. • Experience with Unix Shell, PERL scripting and C/C++ or Java, .Net programming languages. • Significant knowledge and technical understanding of O/S and network technologies. • Excellent consultative and communication skills. • Demonstrated analytical ability and judgment. • Ability to work effectively with clients and other technical staff. • Ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision Thanks & Regards, Riyan Jacob Sr. Recruiter CAT Technology Inc.
