Job Title: Sr. Application Support Engineer Location: San Francisco, CA Duration: 6-12 months Interview: Telephonic Description: Client is seeking an energetic and talented developer to deliver innovative customer facing solutions for several eCommerce initiatives. Client is looking for a Senior Database Developer for the development and design of web components and services to introduce new capabilities and services for their online customers on a highly scalable eCommerce platform. Essential Functions: • Should have hands on experience in Java / J2EE technologies. • Should have good SQL understanding. Experience in DB2 is preferred. • Preferred Technical skills - Struts, Spring, Hibenrate • Added advantage - Experience in JQuery and YUI • Flexibility to work on Night shifts. • Should be able to guide juniors for technical issues • Work with other internal IT teams to complete project activities, such as Infrastructure, Architecture and Database teams. • Maintain current technical knowledge to support rapidly changing technology, always on a look out for new technologies and work with management and development team in bringing new technologies. • Good written/verbal communication skills. • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment. SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITY: No direct reports Education/Training Bachelor's degree - preferably in computer science - or equivalent experience Experience and Role specific abilities/skills • 5 years experience • Experience including analysis, design, coding and implementation of large-scale Java object oriented applications. • Strong knowledge on OO design including extensive design patterns & their applicability. • Be aware of activity in the open source world.
