*Technical/Functional Skills*:
- Demonstrable experience with:
- Linux DB2 administration
- Logical and physical DB modeling. Must be capable of converting a
logical model into a physical model
- Writing and maintaining DB2 Stored Procedures
- Creating and maintaining indexes
- Creating and maintaining triggers
- DB performance analysis and tuning, including memory footprint,
I/O, processor
- Linux administrator tools
- Database modeling tools, ER Studio preferred
- Java programming and JDBC s
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills across multiple
disciplines: architecture, development, operations, product, project
management.
- Self-starting
- Ability to independently research problems and come up with solutions
- Travel Industry experience a plus

*Experience Required*: 3-4 years

*Roles & Responsibilities*: The ideal candidate will blend an interest in
administration with a keen understanding of good DB development practices.
He or she will have several years of experience as a DBA with DB2 on Linux.
The DB2 DBA will, along the java development team be responsible for
- Creation of physical DB definition
- Initial DB set up for environment
- Initial and ongoing sizing of database
- Tuning of database and queries
- Review of all database changes
- Creation and maintenance of Stored Procedures
- Monitor test environment for problems
- Analyze and group database changes for implementation impact
- Creation of implementation scripts
- Hand off of DB changes to Production DBAs
- Act as the Database administrator for test systems: Backup / recovery
/ reorgs / runstats etc / run scripts / troubleshoot
The DB2 DBA will also be expected to be available during implementations
*Education*: Graduate
