Need to fill in 40 positions, therefore look for your support to capture the maximum count. * * *Job Title: Systems Administrator/Engineer (Linux/Unix)* *Duration: 12 months* *Location: Sunnyvale CA* *Responsibilities* * Function as a technical generalist responsible for the overall health and performance of the assigned Client's Property * Work independently on assigned projects, being willing and able to ask for help when needed and escalate problems as they arise. * Develop tools to automate the deployment, administration, and monitoring of a large-scale Linux environment * Gain deep application-level knowledge of the systems as well as contributing to their overall design * Work with development teams to harden, enhance, document, and generally improve the operability and maintainability of our systems * Identify and triage outages, monitor and remediate systems and network performance * Assist in the configuration/build-out of new deployments to facilitate our constant growth * Function as a key member of a cross-functional team to address new product deployment, system performance, capacity planning and SLA compliance. * Available to Participate in a 12x7 (daylight hours) on-call pager rotation * Production support of a highly complex Linux/FreeBSD multi-tier infrastructure. * Requirements gathering and identification of dependencies including operations, networks, hardware and external teams. * Deployment of large-scale environment, including OS, Application and external requirements (ACLs, VIPs, etc) for 100's-1,000's of devices at a time. * Communication & coordination with internal / external groups and operations. * Status monitoring and reporting for selected projects. * Act as subject matter expert for the project and advise/drive engineering teams on best practices to execute. * Function as a key member of a cross-functional team to address new deployments or retirements. * An aggressive learner, a tenacious self starter and an effective organizer. * This versatile position requires familiarity with all the support concepts of busy web sites: Systems and database administration; Networking; Process troubleshooting; QA and rollout automation. * Minimum Job Qualifications* * Significant, proven experience working in a UNIX (RHEL / BSD preferred) environment as a System Administrator/Engineer * Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills, including application and network-level troubleshooting ability * Experience supporting a large-scale production deployment * Proven experience developing tools and automations using scripting languages (e.g., perl, sh/bash/tcsh, etc.) * BA/BS in related field or equivalent experience * Apache/SVN/RPMs/Open Source (such as Puppet) application support experience * Experience leading peers and demonstrating accountability for area of responsibility * Experience organizing projects and reporting on status as well as driving issues to resolution * Knowledge of Unix/Linux, Apache, performance tuning concepts, and web applications * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Self-driven / Self-motivated *Preferred Job Qualifications* * 5+ years experience administering large-scale UNIX installations (ISP background a plus) * Experience with network designs, protocols, and troubleshooting. * Strong programming skills in one or more of: C, Perl, Python, Ruby, Java * Experience with mySQL and commonly deployed database systems * Experience with high volume websites and deploying services to international audiences. *Interview process:* Internal round followed by a Telephonic and face to face round. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "US_IT.Groups" group.
