We need an IBM *DataStage Administrator *consultant for an 6+ month 
contract assignment with a major *Healthcare* client in *Cypress, CA*.

 

Responsibilities of this role include:


• Maintain the *DataStage server processes*.. 
• Create new *projects* and associated *data directories* on the *DataStage 
Server Node*. 
• Manage *space allocation* and usage within the DataStage filesystems. 
• *Install DataStage executables* on the DataStage server node. 
• *Tune* the DataStage server processes. 
• Ensure that the DataStage server is *backed up* appropriately, and that *
recovery* of DataStage server data is possible. 
• Identify, define and establish *technical environment requirements* (e.g., 
access to hardware, file access approvals). 
• Provide consultation on *DataStage best practices* to the project teams. 
• Provide support including *off-hour support* on DataStage issues on the *
production* environments. 
• Work with other technical teams within the Technologies group to *set-up 
and configure the managed-services DataStage environments. 
*• Participate in the design and development of *common jobs and utilities* 
that 
will be rolled out to various project teams as part of the standard 
DataStage offering as well as the future "self-services" offering. 
• Interact with the vendor technical support staff to resolve issues 
regarding the DataStage product suites 

*Required skills and attributes: 
*• Significant knowledge of *DataStage Software Architecture and tools. 
*• Strong problem solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills. 
• Mastery of *DataStage Enterprise Edition (PX), MetaStage, ProfileStage 
QualityStage *and* DataStage TX.* 
• Strong customer service orientation. 
• Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks with competing priorities.
