Will hire from Skype *JOB SUMMARY* The Senior BI Developer position requires a dedication to producing high-quality output and proactive involvement in the successful delivery of BI systems; on time, on budget, on function and through coordination within the rest of the technology department and the business owners. The Sr.BI Developer is responsible for designing and implementing database systems which will adequately support BI/reporting needs of the organization. Has thorough knowledge of data warehousing, BI tools, and ETL systems. The candidate must have a good understanding of the business needs and the technical capabilities and be able to help align the BI solutions to meet the business growth objectives. *SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS* · Formulate designs and/or design recommendations which meet various requirements; balancing the goals and constraints of existing solutions · Must be able to communicate the solution options and details making sure that everyone understands as well as present various views of the system as appropriate to different audiences · Convert business requirements into actionable technical requirements for current and upcoming projects · Lead the requirements process for projects in feasibility stage · *Design, develop and deploy SSIS packages and SSAS cubes to support Business Intelligence projects* · Provide technical leadership within BI team in the design process for approved projects · Design and build reporting and analysis tools that help streamline the business and make reporting, analyzing, planning, and forecasting more efficient · Lead team projects with technical expertise with all aspects of the solution design and implementation, including requirements definition, data acquisition processes, data modeling, process automation, escalation procedures, construction, and deployment · Maintain and enhance knowledge of the business operations and strategic imperatives · Identify risks and escalate to management appropriately · Present and propose solutions, and alternatives, to requirements with an eye to scalability, flexibility, ease of maintenance and time to delivery. This often requires a phased approach and understanding of release schedules · Mentor and train developers in the current technology, policies, processes, and standards · Interpret business requirements into technical database solutions · Propose potential logic solutions and propose data fixes · Provide technology road maps governed by strategic direction, business requirements as well as resourcing and financial constraints · Liaise with the business and IT, accommodate the customer’s business needs, resolve conflicting user demands, and maintain positive customer relations through strong communication and coordination · Work closely with project managers and directors as well as IT department clients (business representatives) from a business and process perspective. From a technical perspective this position may engage network engineers as well as other architecture · Liaise with management and support teams · Assist in scoping and costing of projects · Guide, influence, and grow team members and business colleague’s knowledge base · Work with other SMEs and technical support teams in the pursuit of technically excellent solutions · Resourcefulness and perseverance to find data from whatever sources are available, and adeptness in working in large datasets · Advanced knowledge of data analysis, profiling and conceptual modeling · Knowledge of quality assurance and testing procedures, processes, and techniques employed across platforms and environments in areas of technical specialties · Excellent problem solving skills required · Additional duties as assigned * * *MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS* · Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty or 5-7 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures · *3+ years of Energy Industry Experience preferred* · Demonstrated knowledge of BI solutions and best practices for database solutions · Strong Object / Relational mapping experience and ETL principles/knowledge · Data modeling experience using modeling tools and methodologies · Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
