*Position: WebSphere Infrastructure Engineer* *Location : Houston , TX /Dallas,TX* *Duration : 6+ months* *Job Description:* Client is looking for a mid-level WebSphere Infrastructure Engineer that has previous knowledge migrating J2EE applications between application containers. Need to know Tomcat and Apache since this will involve moving applications to Tomcat. *Full details are below.* • WebSphere Infrastructure Engineering resource, capable of supporting the COTS application based on J2EE Application Server. The following are a list of overall skills desired to work our Client's Architecture and Shared Service existing and future Stakeholders: • Should be able to or have previous knowledge of migrating J2EE application from between application container. • Provide information needed to assess the risk of production deployment of a business critical application: installation and configuration readiness, performance and scalability evaluation, stability and durability evaluation, and best practices procedures. • Assess the processes that will be used to operate, support and maintain the Enterprise implementation(s). Refine the deployment process and architecture so that it will easily scale to fit into an enterprise scope. • Knowledge of Tomcat and Apache (or moving applications to Tomcat) • Needs to be extensible to changing platform requirements or other advancements in the distributed computing model. • Assist in determining Service Level Agreements (SLA’s), for immediate needs/deployments, and enterprise SLA’s to support ongoing operations, if any. • Develop performance, scalability, and durability evaluations and monitoring for load testing and real time. • Create real time performance, profiling, and monitoring components to be utilized during load testing and for real time monitoring of all stages of application deployment (Dev, Test, Staging, Prod). • Design an automated deployment strategy that can be leveraged despite originating development environment (WebLogic, WebSphere, etc). • Experience with WebLogic JMX and Monitoring scripting. • Experience with IBM Infoserver-datastage. • Experience configuring and administering unique deployments of custom applications for any J2EE container. • Advanced WebSphere performance and tuning experience including development of custom tools.
