*Test Engineer*
*Focus on Performance Testing - *The Test Engineer is the subject matter
expert for infrastructure and product testing.  They would be responsible
for the manual test design and execution.  They are responsible for
providing all levels of test on a work effort; System, End-to-End System
Test, User Acceptance Test, Performance Test, Non-Functional Test,
Regression Test, End-to-End Customer Experience Test, Implementation Test,
and Integration Test.


The Test Engineer would provide automation requirements such as the manual
functional testing tasks  to the Automation Engineers.  The Test Engineer
will work directly with the Automation Engineer to decide what should be
automated and how manual procedures may be modified to better facilitate
automation.

The Test Engineer is required to have excellent written and verbal
communication skills.

1.Liaison/ambassador working with others to spread an understanding of the
services provided by our component.
2. Be the primary technical contact for the specific product and affiliated
testing efforts he or she may be assigned to represent.
3. Develop and maintain communication with the team, business partners and
others in the organization (e.g. overviews provided in test team meetings
to discuss efforts and testing).
4. The subject matter expert for the infrastructure product assigned.
5. Promote the use of test automation.
6. Create and maintain test documentation for each testing effort (i.e.
Test Strategy, Test Plan, and Test Summary).
7. Design, create, execute, and log results for test cases.
8. Work with business and development teams in requirements of testing
efforts and test plan and test case reviews.
9. Perform a full product review for impacts to assigned product
 Engage in incidents and problems associated to stability and availability
of your product          Review each Release for a list of products being
changed and determine integration testing needs for your product assigned
10. Accountable for identifying, documenting and managing risks and defects
associated to the products (with escalation).
11. Schedule one-on-one meeting with the Product Owner to understand the
changes, potential impacts of the changes and to review unit test cases and
results.
12. Be visible and available to all team members for assistance in
training, reviewing work, knowledge share, and maintaining workload.
13. Keep the Test Manager informed of all issues that may need to be
escalated.
14. Be able to communicate on a technical level and be able to bridge the
gap between projects, business partners and technical staff.
15. Seek to remain current on technology, especially those technologies
with future team impact.
16. Provide technical assistance in evaluating new solutions that may
impact the workload of the testing team(s).
17. Validate and verify that solutions meet business, functional, and
technical requirements.
18. Provide testing strategy and planning, environment monitoring, and risk
mitigation.
19. Ensure timely completion of appropriate and accurate testing
deliverables throughout the project life cycle.
20. Utilizes Services Management practices.
21. Provides suggestions for testing improvement.
22. Volunteers for additional work to stay fully allocated.     **

*Additional Skills needed: *
 - Knowledge of State Farm Service Management Processes (ITIL related) is
required.
- Technical Test Case Development and Execution experience required.
 - A willingness to build relationships with business partners to improve
risk mitigation through validation.
 - Firm understanding of performance testing
- Performance testing tools, including, but not limited to, HP Perf Center,
BEST1, HP Diagnostics
 - Firm background in Linux OS
- Performance test experience in web driven apps and web service testing
 - Experience in and a firm understanding of non-functional testing
