*Job Responsibilities*

Oracle
Database Administration for the Data Warehouse multi-terabyte database Using
Oracle RAC

   - Tune and Optimize an Oracle Real Application Cluster (RAC) setup on
   multiple Linux nodes.
   - Tune the environment to provide best performance and a stable
   environment.
   - Review the space usage and prepare and implement storage management
   plan which includes
      - Organize or re-organize the table structures in separate
      tablespaces, for better management of backups, facilitate creating lower
      (QA, Development) environments, and allow for reduction of backup load by
      separating relatively static data, staging and temporary data, etc.  This
      will require learning about
      the business aspects of the data.
      - Monitor data growth and changes to the storage requirements and
      develop a multi-year growth pattern by subject area.
      - Prepare/ Plan storage expansion as necessary in advance to allow
      time for procurement.
      - Configure and maintain secure SQLNet Listener ensure high
      availability of services.
      - Develop detailed understanding of the major facts and dimensions of
      the data warehouse and frequent queries. Review methods of
optimizing these
      queries by
         - Developing appropriate support structure – indexes, partitions,
         materialized views
         - Review Batch Queries and suggest methods to optimize them
         - Monitor user queries and suggest changes for users
         - Work closely with the development team to develop/ maintain
         code, including for query optimization
         - Develop code when necessary in Linux bash, SQL, PL/SQL, perl as
         necessary.
         - Review the resource profiles and ensure that there are
         appropriate governors in place to prevent any one process
causing undue
         load on the DB, ensuring that end users are appropriately
restricted and
         that batch users can perform the necessary tasks in a reasonable time
         - Monitor periodic ETL batch processes and ensure that any issues
         are resolved
         - Manage EMC SAN based Database replication process and scripts
         - Manage our Informatica servers and infrastructure
         - Manage ancillary servers such as SFTP, wiki, CVS, LDAP etc.
         - Manage user creation/ privilege management for development and
         business users Informatica Administrator skills
            - Install, configure and implement good deployment practices
            for our Informatica Setup
            - Manage Informatica server routine tasks
            - Advise us on where we can leverage Informatica in within the
            DW

 *Required Skills:*

   - Minimum 5 years of Oracle DBA experience with minimum 1 year with
   Oracle RAC
   - Experience with Storage Management
   - Experience with Oracle SQL tuning
   - Experience working in data warehouse installations and knowledge of
   managing dimensional data

 *Preferred skills:*

   - Experience in Informatica Administration
   - Experience in Cognos or other BI tools based reporting
   - Experience with Medicaid or Health Insurance
