Please send us an updated copy of your resume with a daytime, evening phone number, expected compensation in your next job and best time to reach you.** *Position: Sr. Linux System Administrator* *Duration: 6-12 Months* *Location: Milpitas, CA* *Description:* Client's analytics team has a need for a system administrator to help the team efficiently set up computing resources for analytics processing and data management. *Responsibilities:* * Install CentOS 6.3 or RedHat 6.2 on all compute nodes * Replicate software environment client has on compute-node1 to all other compute nodes * Set up a good back-up solution; data organization (quotas for users, data partitions) * Set up shared file system & local tmp space to avoid bottlenecks (give advice depending on distributed compute solution) * Work with Lab admin to redistribute the compute nodes to different racks for power * Increase compute power - Go thru machine inventory and setup a second rack with additional compute nodes * Setup a FTP solution for sharing data with vendors (client is using dropbox right now!) * Set up and organize the video data client has on a "video server" * Create a simple reporting interface to report compute status (what jobs are running, how many machines are up/down, alarms, alerts) * Implement a better optimized distributed processing setup - Sungrid, Hadoop/Cloudera * Time permitting - organize and setup environment for storing data related to Vertical Language models *Requirements/Skills:* * Experienced in designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and tuning Linux systems in a medium to large enterprise environment. * A Degree in the Computer Science, or Information Technology discipline. * 7+ yrs. experience as Red Hat Linux systems administrator * Apart from various flavors of shell scripting, good knowledge of Python will be a plus * * * * * * *Thanks & Regards,** ***** *Aditya* *Resource Manager* *Droisys, Inc.* 4800 Patrick Henry Drive Santa Clara, CA- 95054 Office: 408-874-8333 x Ext-247 | M: 408 663 9375 Email: [email protected] Web: http://www.droisys.com *OUR MISSION:* *Droisys is an internationally recognized leader helping mankind advance and businesses grow through cost effective technology.
