*Position: Operations - Support Analyst III*

*Location: New York City, NY*

*Duration: 6+ Months Contract*



JOB DESCRIPTION



Start and control computer system(s) on schedule by means of computer
system console, operator checklists, and third-party software.

·         Investigate all messages displayed via the monitoring tools, and
verifies that all jobs inputted to the system are processed correctly and
come to a normal termination.

·         Take corrective action on problems including use of third-party
support software, while informing management, business units and customers

·         Supports Operations, Product, QA, and Development tests.
Interfaces with QA to ensure operational testing procedures(failover and
recovery) are incorporated in the QA test suites. Writes basic test plans
and scripts, as appropriate. Create incident and problem management
database records as appropriate.

·         Follows ITSM practices in regard to Incident, Problem, and Change
Management along with the creation of database records for these
disciplines.

·         Takes a proactive approach in troubleshooting applications and
goes into greater detail in problem solving via Service Now and Change
Management practices.

·         Performs checkout procedures to ensure the integrity of the
production environments.

·         Creates basic recovery plans and procedures as well as
configuration and validation scripts.

·         Has the ability to look at the big picture from an automation
perspective, drive out a prioritization, and determine the ROI, work as a
team member and individual contributor to implement the strategy.

·         Trouble shoots and corrects standard recovery procedures that do
not result in a timely restoration of service

·         Strong knowledge of software and hardware networking and desktop
applications.

·         Individual must be self-motivated, willing to assume new tasks
and learn new job skills, and must also practice a positive work
relationship with all co-workers.

·         Excellent event detection skills to recognize routine technical,
operational problems and abnormal computer conditions.

·         Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and attention to detail.

·         Ability to work with limited supervision, and the capability to
manage multiple tasks simultaneously, setting priorities, and tracking
completion of all tasks.

·         Knowledge of securities industry is preferable with an
understanding of customer needs.

·         Must have strong verbal, written and presentation skills, and be
able to work effectively with diverse disciplines.

·         Ability to initiate continued learning through reading technical
documents, attendance of in-house and external training courses as agreed
to with management; and following technical and industry developments

·         Shows initiative in maintaining and increasing technical skills

Technical Skills: OVO, TIDAL, Linux (Redhat), Scripting (KSH, Perl)

EXP Level: 5-10 Years
