*Android Automated Test Engineer development position *
*Job Description:*
We build engaging, innovative, user focused mobile applications for
Android. Our engineers help to define our next generation of mobile
applications and features. We don't build simple apps; we push the
boundaries of the latest Android APIs and tools to build high quality
software to be preinstalled on next generation smartphones in over 60
languages.
We are focused on finding a person who can take our automated test suite to
the next level to validate and verify our application's quality. They will
research, determine, and implement potential tools to improve the testing
process and efficiency. Person must be familiar with continuous
integration tools (*Jenkins preferred*) and the building of Android
applications.
We like people that are eager to share their knowledge to help elevate
other team member's skills and are open-minded to new ways to accomplish
something.
It's an advantage if they have experience with testing server-side APIs and
interacting with 3rd party web services in cloud deployments with AWS or
equivalent.
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum team environment is preferred.
*What you'll be doing*
- You'll be working on a team creating an Android
application interfacing to a variety of web-services to provide seamless,
elegant, and robust user experiences to users on their Sony mobile devices.
- You'll be writing code to help automate our processes -
including development/programming processes, application testing,
stress/performance testing, and then help to represent the results in a
useful report/dashboard.
- You'll help to validate the operation of the application
in various scenarios
*Skill set*
- You will possess a solid understanding of Android, Java,
JUnit, scripting language(s), and related automation and reporting tools
- Must have extensive experience with automated testing and
continuous integration
- Nice to have:
: Experience with client-server development using RESTful
web-services
: Prior experience with communication protocols, data security
implications, and/or location-based services are a plus
*Other*
- A background in Computer Science fundamentals (based on a
BS in Computer Science or related experience) with OO design
- Excellent communicator who is passionate about quality,
testability, supportability, extensibility, and simple design
- Experience developing Android applications is nice to have
*Tools/Libraries*
- Experience with Maven, Nexus, Jenkins, and static code
analysis tools is desired
- Experience with GIT/Subversion
