Employment Type -Contract Consultant Job Level Consultant Location USA - NY - Brooklyn Minimum 5-7 years of Networking experience. Preferably in financial services. CCNP/JNCIS certified or working towards certification. Proficient with MS Office products, particularly Visio and Excel. VoIP experience is a plus. Skills Desired The Deployment Engineering consultant will be required to work in a consultative manner with systems engineering, operations, project management, security, and a number of other Morgan Stanley internal silos to deliver this professional service project. Responsibilities of the consultant will include: Staging, configuration, and deployment of Cisco network and wireless devices. Develop and present deployment plan, staging and turnover documentation (Device configuration, design packages, visio diagrams, cross-connect cable cutsheets, and Checknet output and diffs validating turnover success. Coordinate with external partners, vendors, and clients for the network deployment and ensure proper communication is in place prior to changes. Validate Bill of Materials (BoM) for all necessary implementation work with the current network infrastructure. This includes and not limited to logging into the routers to validate copper vs. fibre requirements, SFPs, etc. System updates of all technical pre-requirements leading up to the Deployment date. Tasks include and not limited to port reservations, DHCP requirements if any, DSDB, QoS, QIP, Spectrum, etc. Create hardware configuration based on Engineering templates and proactive validation work to ensure the configurations are correct. Create TCM and Service Center tickets articulating turnover activities. Participate in all Change Management forums which require articulating interdependencies for other organizational groups. Weekend deployment work, including turnover completion emails communicating turnover status, extensive testing and check-outs. Perform circuit testing. Post-weekend support (next business day) to ensure stability. Qualifications: Direct experience in service provider network design is mandatory. Theoretical and practical application of protocols required. Expert knowledge in TCP/IP, OSPF, and BGP required. Possess a high degree of system level troubleshooting. Able to perform complex implementation with minimum guidance and oversight from a project manager. Strong background in various vendor IOS, routers, and switches required. Meticulous lab testing capabilities, including generating test plans based on technical requirements. Theoretical and practical application of Layer 2 VPNs (MPLS) Experience using packet generators and analyzers desirable. Experience in inter-networking. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proven project management skills required. Must work well in team environment. Minimum 5-7 years of Networking experience. Preferably in financial services. CCNP/JNCIS certified or working towards certification. Proficient with MS Office products, particularly Visio and Excel. VoIP experience is a plus.
