Here's the Job Description *Data Modeler - Only local to NJ or NY* 6+ Months *FACE TO FACE REQUIRED* - ONLY GC OR CITIZEN OR EAD OR TIN VISA *Responsibilities: * - Work closely with project team members to understand the data elements and high level data flow(s) required for projects - Work with the Discovery data profiling tool for analysis of cross-database data relationships and differences - Develop in-depth critical knowledge of The Company’s Retirement data repositories and their contents - Identify and analyze source data and target data models as required. - Develop quantitative models of source and target data and specify application requirements for data movement, data validation, and data quality remediation - Provide guidance, education and support to other analysts and project team members where appropriate to accomplish data analysis tasks - Definition of various kinds of information for a given data situation such as business processes impacting source data and inter-database dependencies and relationships, based on results obtained from analytic models - Schedule and facilitate design sessions as needed with project team members to work through issues that may arise regarding data-sourcing requirements, data transformation logic, data modeling needs, performance and functional test planning, and source or target impact analysis * Qualifications: * - Ability to analyze and decipher interrelated data to understand complex data transformation logic, data relationships and root causes of data errors - Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills; able to break complex issues down into small parts to explain to others. - Experience within the Financial Services Industry, especially Retirement Services, strongly preferred - Experience in data profiling techniques strongly preferred - Familiarity with database design techniques and data modeling standards - Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to successfully interact with Business Analysts, Solution and Data Architects, Project Managers, Technical Leads, Data Analysts, Data Modelers, ETL Developers, Software Developers and Testers. - Ability to successfully handle multiple projects in fast paced, goal oriented environment - Ability to deal with and resolve conflicting and competing demands - Proficient PC skills - Excel/Access/Visio/Internet Methodologies - ERWin - added plus - IBM Infosphere tools like Business Glossary, Meta Data Workbench and datastage *Years of Experience:* Senior (7+ years) Approx.
