Responsibility:
• Subject matter expert within own discipline/specialty area and basic
knowledge of other disciplines / specialty areas
• Applies in-depth knowledge of discipline/specialty area standards and
processes to work
• Solves non-routine problems by independently applying judgment to
established analysis and standard approaches
• Guided by project and work deadlines
• Uses discretion to complete assignments, independently applying knowledge
of technical practices and specialty area standards
• Independently completes assignments and participates in projects of
diverse scope
• Supports technical initiatives normally as part of a larger project
• Works on development of new technologies or maintenance of existing
technologies
• Contributes to milestone completion of projects
• Cultivates good working relationships with peers
Skills:
• Expertise in Linux/Solaris/Windows 2008/13 system administration
• Expertise in storage – Hitachi/HP/EMC/Netapp storage administration
• VMWare ESXi and vCenter expertise is required
• RHEV-H/M KVM is required
• Server engineering skill set is required
• Jumpstart and Kickstart experience
• Ability to compile and create packages or rpms for software applications
• Experience with NFS/CIFS
• Experience with patching operating systems
• Working knowledge of server hardware
o HP
o IBM
o Dell
• Some scripting knowledge is needed – perl, shell
• Experience with administering common applications like Apache, MySQL,
Open source tools and applications
• Good Documentation skills
• Knowledge of creating deployment guides, methods and procedures and
troubleshooting guides
• Team player and ability to grasp high level instructions is very
important
• Tier 4 support
• Overall Lab support
Education:
• Bachelors/Masters in CSE or CS or relevant field
