Title: Data Architect Location: Philadelphia, PA Duration: 6 month contract to hire (NO H-1 Candidates please) ******MUST BE LOCAL FOR A FACE TO FACE****** Description: *Position Summary:* The Data Architect is the firm’s information strategist. Equally adept at dealing with business decision makers and technology managers, the Data Architect’s primary function is to bring clarity, structure and accessibility to the firm’s information to maximize its value to the enterprise. *Primary Duties & Responsibilities*: Build relationships with business stakeholders and partner to understand information needs. Translate into strategy and high-level requirements for data warehouse solutions. Define enterprise information strategy and technology roadmap that aligns with corporate goals and CTO vision. Own the modeling process and associated modeling platform. Design logical and physical models, both traditional 3rd normal forms and dimensional, for business applications and data warehousing solutions. Supervise physical model implementation across the enterprise as required by development teams. Participate in the data governance process as a member of the enterprise data council. Define data quality strategy and oversee implementation for key datasets, in addition to defining data security standards in collaboration with the Security & Policy Architect. Evolve the metadata strategy and enhancements to the firm’s metadata platform. Research and oversee tool selection and integration. Maintain vendor relationships. Supervise data modelers and data analysts as direct reports. *Knowledge*: • 10 - 15 years of experience with data architecture for applications and data warehouse solutions with a minimum of 5 years in Corporate IT. • Experience with data modeling for transactional databases, operational data stores, data warehouses and data marts. • Experience with modeling tools like ERWin, and familiarity with ETL tools like Informatica or Microsoft Integration Services, and reporting tools like Microsoft Reporting Services or Oracle BI. • Experience with relational databases like Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server. • Experience with data governance, information security, data quality and metadata management. *Skills & Abilities*: • Ability to lead, motivate, train and be a mentor to staff personnel • Action oriented, self-motivated and capable of performing multiple tasks simultaneously • Solid communication and presentation skills.
