*Title:               Linux Architect*

*Location:        Raleigh NC*

*Duration:       12 months+*

 

 

*Experience/Skills: *

The ideal candidate will have technical expertise with large scale 
enterprise Unix and Linux systems service delivery, security concepts, 
strategies, tools, and implementation experience, including the following: 

 

• Essential administration experience with Sun Solaris and/or RedHat 
Enterprise Linux or equivalent, including configuration, troubleshooting, 
performance optimization, and user access management. 

• Strong experience with one or more popular scripting languages (shell, 
perl, python, etc.), ability to write and document scripts for automation 
and reporting. Some experience with database design and querying in a 
popular database system (Oracle, MySQL, etc.) a plus. 

• Strong experience working with NFS storage systems (Netapp/EMC 
preferred), NFS client configuration, CIFS, remote data replication. 
Experience in a mixed Windows/Unix environment a plus. 

• Essential network troubleshooting and configuration skills: client 
configuration, basic performance troubleshooting 

• Knowledge of change management best practices; ability to work with 
clients to identify environmental needs, test and schedule upgrades, drive 
compliance. 

• Knowledge and experience holistic data center operations (spanning 
compute, storage, security and networking services, etc.). 

• Strong skills in technical problem resolution and analytical processes. 

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Excellent customer 
interface skills including identifying stakeholder requirements and 
collaborating to define, scope, and track implementation of desired output. 

• Independently motivated and able to identify and complete goals, track 
and report on progress, deliver on schedule or strategize solutions and 
communicate revised milestones in response to unforeseen challenges. 
Ability to summarize roadblocks to explain where help is needed in order to 
obtain assistance from environment subject matter experts when appropriate. 

• Experience with contributing well formatted standards and documentation 
related to project output. 

• Team player, adaptable, willing to learn and able to learn quickly**
