Requirement as follows: * * *Job Title: Virtualization Engineer* Start Date: ASAP Duration: 6 Months + - Long Term Location: Rhode Island Job Description: The Virtualization Engineer will be responsible for infrastructure support and projects to ensure that business goals and objectives are accomplished. The candidate is expected to assist peers through training, documentation and mentoring while focusing on organizationas success. The successful candidate will have an in-depth understanding of industry leading virtualization technologies from both an architectural design and engineering perspective. The candidate should have in-depth knowledge of Linux, SAN and Networking technologies that support the virtual infrastructure. The Virtualization Engineer will work closely to enhance virtualization performance, monitoring and define support best practices in the enterprise Additional Job Details: Continue enhancements to virtualization solutions taking into account infrastructure, data protection, high availability, resource management, automation, disaster recovery, and application requirements. a Solid understanding of SAN/NAS storage technologies with significant exposure to storage platforms (EMC preferred). a Practical skills required for the installation, configuration, security and management of VMware ESX. (VCP Preferred) Provide expertise in troubleshooting virtualization and O.S. performance issues Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, PowerCLI, Perl). a Strong Linux system administration skills a Familiarity with data replication technologies, server migration and disaster recovery strategies (VMware SRM). Demonstrate a clear understanding and expertise of networking technologies in a virtualized environment. a In-depth knowledge of VMware vCenter, HA, DRS, etc. a Excellent troubleshooting abilities and in-depth knowledge of ESX platform. a Experience with ESX performance tuning. a Familiarity with security issues and best practices in virtual environments. a Must be adept at identifying and eliminating performance bottlenecks and making performance-related recommendations (hardware, software, configuration). a Practical knowledge of virtualization tools from vendors such as, VMTurbo, Veeam, Quest.
