*Position Summary:*

The Senior Data Architect is responsible for developing and maintaining the
enterprise information design, data storage blueprints, enterprise level
information mapping, and facilitation of data governance. This
responsibility includes being able to translate the business needs into
conceptual and logical data models, and provide leadership, insight and
guidance to all data governance initiatives.
The Senior Data Architect must have the ability lead others, to understand
and apply the concepts of data / database design, and be able to
communicate well with various audiences.
The successful candidate will have proven experience with enterprise-level
data architectures and standards; reverse-engineering, data profiling, and
other investigative techniques; metadata repositories; taxonomy, model, and
ontology development and tools; an ability to provide innovative and
forward thinking technical solutions; and building a business case. A good
understanding of the financial industry (especially industry utility
functions such as clearing, settlement, depository, and transaction
reporting) is ideal, but not required.

*Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):*

Responsible for leading initiatives related to master data management, data
governance and EDW.
Responsible for leading data analytics initiatives and teams
Participates and facilitates database design discussions. Interacts with
DBAs to ensure the database designs are accurate and performance issues are
met
Analyzes the impact of database designs as they relate to the conceptual
data model
Understand the physical constraints and best practices for the major data
technologies leveraged across the environment
Performs analysis to prevent data redundancy across systems and facilitates
the resolution of data integration practices
Assists in the identification and resolution of inefficiencies in database
designs, determines and implements solutions for database design problems,
and assists in the development of internal DA projects.
Maintains and champions data architecture/administration standards and
policies
Provides guidance in the implementation of new database applications
Identification, definition, and interpretation of enterprise information
requirements
Creates clear and concise presentations to educate others on the use of
data modeling / design techniques and technologies
Responsible for partnering with the Planning organization to provide
subject area knowledge, project scoping and estimates, and appropriate
project status updates
Aligns data architecture strategy with enterprise architectural strategies
and business domain roadmaps
“Big data” (e.g. map/reduce, HFS, highly parallel processing) design and
implementation
Actively participates in data review and design walkthroughs, validating
database designs for best practices and performance issues
Mentors others on the role and responsibilities around the management of
data
Follows-up with data analysts, administrators and managers to ensure newly
implemented database
designs support the defined business need.

*Experience*

7+ years of professional experience in data warehouse, data architecture,
ERWIN , information/data management, and/or data administration (financial
services industry preferred)
4+ years of professional experience managing projects related to data
management
Demonstrated competence, experience, knowledge, and understanding in data
architecture/administration concepts, including dimensional modeling, ERWIN
modeling, and ETL concepts
Bachelor's Degree in Information Science (or related field) or equivalent
proven experience
Strong understanding of Oracle
