*JOB DESCRIPTION:*

·         Oracle client installations

·         Oracle Schema management

·         Oracle code/application performance monitoring and tuning

·         Oracle metrics tracking and growth planning

·         Oracle Encryption

·         Oracle Table/Index Portioning

·         Oracle Database Links

·         Design, code, test and implement complex database structures.

·         Demonstrate the ability to work on multiple complex
projects/tasks simultaneously.

·         Participate in complex database designs.

·         Share responsibilities in database tuning and DASD management.

·         Under limited supervision, maintain, modify and create complex
database structures: Design, code, test, and implement databases by
applying knowledge of database design standards and database management
systems.  Designs and codes database parameters.

·         Assist in research and implementation of new productivity
software and techniques.  Develop strategies for data acquisitions, archive
recovery, and implementation of a database.  Develop standards and
guidelines for the database management system and supporting software.

·         Comprehends instructions and completes tasks as directed.  Meet
predetermined deadlines set for assigned tasks.  Serve as a technical
resource to others.  Reviews and gives advice concerning database CALL
patterns used in application programs.

·         Maintain a competent level of technical knowledge about database
management systems, programming fundamentals, programming languages, and
structured techniques.  Demonstrate the ability to work on multiple
projects simultaneously.

·         Perform project tasks to ensure that associated deliverables are
completed in a timely manner.  Participate in on-call responsibilities and
assists or performs problem solving.  Evaluate alternatives and recommends
situations in on-call situations.

·         Coordinates disaster recovery activities and participates in the
design of emergency procedures.

·         Create documentation in accordance with tasks performed.  Ensure
written communication is accurate, timely and thorough.  Adheres to
accepted standards and procedures.

·         Serve as a mentor/trainer for a DBA I and/or DBA II. Performs
other duties as assigned. Ability to think logically Good technical skills
(i.e. industry products, testing, etc…)

·         Develop extensive knowledge of  Excellent customer service skills
DBS (DB2 related vendor products, QMF, File-aid DB2, SQL, Image Copy,
Reorg, Unload/Reload, Recovery, Log Analyzer, Omegamon Monitor)IMS (DBDGEN,
PSBGEN, ACBGEN, IDCAMS, DL/I, File-aid IMS, Image Copy, Reorg, DBRC,
Unload/Reload, Gast Path Analysis, DSI, Log Analyzer, Recovery Change
Accum, )Develop complex test plans and completes required testing for
assigned projects Oracle Associated relational database competencies
