Please include your employer details as well. *Job Title* Data Architect *Project Location* Downtown, NY *Duration* 12 months /Contract *Interview Mode: Phone and Skype* *Skills Required and Job Description:* Skills Need: • Must have 10+ years investment banking experience gained through trading, product control, market and credit risk perspectives. • Must have 'Recent' banking experience as a Sr Data Architect. • Must have extensive experience whole wholesale banking functions, in particular trading, valuations and risk management. • Must have experience of banking regulatory requirements. • Must have extensive experience building extensive and comprehensive business data models. • Must have a deep technical knowledge of wide range of wholesale banking instruments from qualitative and quantitative perspectives. • Must have the ability to understand and specify technical business requirements and translate and communicate into technology requirements. • Investigation and analysis to gain an in-depth understanding of technology strategy requirements across wholesale banking. • Definition of the strategic technology architecture and principles governing its design and evolution. • Provide the support and flexibility to evolve the strategic architecture rapidly in response to changes in technology or business environment. • Develop a strategic cross-functional technology data model. • Identification of the major implementation projects and transition architectures. • Plan technology transition from current state to future state architecture. • Provide architectural oversight and ensure conformance to the Wholesale technology strategy and architecture. • Oversight and coordination of the extension of the full architectural design and change process to align with other areas of the bank. • Implementation and adherence to quality assurance principles and processes. • Ensure changes to the architecture are managed in a cohesive and architected way. • Provide direction and support to CTO design and transformation team globally. • Devise, describe, document and own the end state architecture vision. • Ensure changes to IT architecture are aligned to the Wholesale business strategy and target operating model. • Ensure change is focused on evolving the strategic architecture and avoiding tactical and throw-away interim solutions. • Ensure knowledge is shared between projects and projects benefit the wider architecture. • Develop, promote and control standards for IT systems, thereby reducing costs associated with duplication and integration of heterogeneous applications. • Improve the maturity level of architecture discipline within the organization and enforce architectural compliance. Skills, experience, qualifications and knowledge required. • Ability to appreciate the big picture and to match detailed requirements into single overall view of the banking landscape. • Appreciation and understanding of technological advancements in the financial industry and beyond which may impact and contribute to the new architectural model. • Pragmatic approach to problem solving. • Demonstrable ability and confidence to build relationships with the business at all levels. • Strong verbal, written and presentation communication skills. The JOB: Department Function The CTO function oversees the bank’s current technology roadmap and owns the strategy for the future technical direction - it has the business knowledge necessary to align technology related decisions with the organization's goals. The CTO monitors technology trends that could impact the company and identifies opportunities and risks for the business. The department maintains current information about technology standards and compliance regulations and, where appropriate, communicates the company's technology strategy to partners, management, investors and employees. The department may manage research and development projects and participates in management decisions about corporate governance .
