Responsibilities: Job Duties:
The Broadband Engineer
provides planning, design, implementation and operations support of cable
operated networks. This position works as a member of the team primarily to
perform work associated with the support, planning and design functions as well
as providing Implementation and Operations support as required to accomplish
business goals. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND
RESPONSIBILITIES: •Work as a member of the
team on the support, development and implementation of CMTS, Wi-Fi, RF, and
Ethernet based IP Networks. •Maintain networks at
proper operational levels. •Develop or support
development of deployment guides and Method of Procedure documentation.
•Maintain network
documentation. Required Skills:
Experience with the
implementation and operations of edge network components in an MSO environment
(CMTS, Switch, Firewall, Router, Wi-Fi, and RF based technologies).
•Knowledge in the
implementation and operation of a wide range of technologies including DOCSIS,
CMTS, Wi-Fi, RF Combining networks, Switched Digital Video systems, Video on
Demand systems, and the customer premise equipment associated with each service
delivery technology. •Requires ability to
evaluate numerous direct and indirect variables when performing tasks.
•Strong decision making
skills to effectively support, implement, and troubleshoot network needs in a
creative manner. •Strong interpersonal
skills necessary to work in a professional, cooperative manner to successfully
interact with members of cross-functional teams including sales engineering,
network engineering, service delivery, construction, operations and QA.
•Proficient using PC,
Internet and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
Education: Discipline Education Level
Computer Science
Bachelors degree or seven years equivalent work experience
