*Summary:*

The purpose of this job function is to provide performance test script
development, execution, analysis and reporting related to capacity
planning, performance validations and functionality of our new and existing
programs.  Lead troubleshooting and tuning exercises.

*Position responsibilities:*

* Evaluates, recommends, and implements automated test tools and
strategies.
* Works with Business Analysts and Business Intelligence to identify
requirements and data for performance testing and capacity planning.

*  Develops, maintains, and upgrades automated test scripts and
architectures for application products using   Load Runner and Performance
Center.

*  Executes performance tests and reports results.

*  Analyzes test cases and test strategy and recommends improvements.

*  Facilitates troubleshooting and tuning exercises. Proactively engages
Application Development, DBA, Network Group, Server Group, etc. to
troubleshoot issues.

* Tracks and communicates testing efforts - Defines and tracks quality
assurance metrics such as performance degradation, defects, defect counts,
test results and test status.

*  Works closely with software engineers in the development, execution, and
results of tests.

*  Manages issues through resolution and communicates status.

*  *Years of relevant experience: *8+ years hands-on experience with HP
Load Runner and Performance Center.  8+ years experience performance
testing and tuning high volume web-based applications and services with
emphasis in web site and portal technologies. 3+ years experience in
planning performance test strategy and executing and delivering against the
plan.



*Requirements:  *
* The candidate will need strong written and verbal communication skills
and should be able to express him or herself to technical development
management and staff.
* The candidate should also have excellent facilitation and requirements
gathering skills.
* Applicant should be familiar with standard concepts, practices and
procedures within the field of quality assurance and project management.
** 8+ years hands-on experience with HP Load Runner and Performance Center*

** 8+ years experience delivering web-based applications and services with
emphasis in web site and portal technologies. Experience in structured SDLC
methodologies.*

** 3+ years experience in planning performance test strategy and executing
and delivering against the plan.*

* Maintain test plan documentation and summary status reports on system
tests.
* Ability to accurately determine root cause and class of system error for
proper resolution, communicate failures and questionable results with
suggested areas of failure.
* Participate in readiness assessment with recommendations and concerns
based on test result findings.
* Promote continuous improvement in QA processes
* Strong Analytical and problem solving abilities
* General experience with business applications in the areas of
Subscription Management

   - Experience with high volume, high-availability applications.
   - Experience with all components of application architecture including
   web tier, application tier, database tier, and networking in order to
   facilitate performance troubleshooting.
   - Ability to quickly learn new applications
   - Ability to work in a rapidly changing environment, and interact daily
   with all levels of staff, including system developers and business analysts.
   - Experience in a subscription based industry preferred-
   cable/broadband, cellular/PCS, digital satellite provider, ISP, local
   exchange carrier, or magazine publishing.
   - Prior software development experience a plus.



Software / Hardware Package Requirements:



   - Testing Software: *HP Load Runner and Performance Center
required.* Silk Performer, Mercury Win Runner, Mercury Quick Test
Professional,
   Database Monitors, Network Sniffers, Foglight, a plus.
   - DBMS: Knowledge of SQL Server and Oracle
   - Software Development: Knowledge of C, C#, XML, JAVA, WebLogic, HTML
   - Bug Tracking Tools: Test Director/Quality Center, Visual Intercept,
   Jira
   - Preferred Skills: Portal Infranet knowledge (or other subscription
   based billing systems), Streaming Technology, Web Technologies, Oracle
   Financials, Data Warehousing
