*Job Title* SQL DBA *Project Location* San Diego, CA *Duration* 6 months /Contract *Skills Required and Job Description:* *Interview Mode: Telephonic followed by F2F* The Database Administrator position is primarily responsible for evaluating, designing, creating and supporting all aspects of the database environment using *SQL, SSRS, and SSAS*. The position works closely with Development teams, Production Operations staff, and contractors on future development and ongoing system management. This position will work with a team of software engineers responsible for the design of the main ERP systems for the company. - Works in conjunction with other IT development and business groups to understand functionality, scalability, performance, security, and integration requirements from the database perspective, and translates these requirements into functional, scalable and reusable components for our application development framework. - Serves as the database owner for PeopleSoft, Great Plains, MS CRM, Hyperion and custom applications, ensuring that the systems are managed, monitored, and updated according to development standards of the company and through Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. *Competencies:* - Knowledge of SSIS and applied experience utilizing this technology - Must have significant experience in a 24x7 Production Database environment, experience related to supporting Internet Websites, Payroll, Time and Labor and Billing for ERP applications a plus - Must have experience with the full systems lifecycle covering requirements, design, development, testing and delivery of n-tier architecture - Extensive knowledge of SQL database management and database design - Extensive experience with Transact-SQL command language and stored procedures - Design experience on security issues with regards to data - Must be well-versed in techniques to maximize database schema re-use and extensibility - Experience with visual modeling tools, techniques and methodologies and an understanding and use of data design patterns a plus - Extensive experience managing multiple MS-SQL Server environments and server many administrative roles on a small team - Knowledge of data warehousing and data mining a plus - Knowledge of OLAP technology (specifically SSAS) a plus - Well-organized work habits with strong detail orientation - Good communication skills, teamwork abilities and approach *Experience:* - 5+ years experience as a *MS-SQL Server 2005/2008R2/2012 DBA* with responsibility for installing, configuring, tuning and maintaining mission-critical SQL Server databases serving at least 500 concurrent users - 5+ years *T-SQL Coding of Stored Procedures for MS-SQL Server* - 3+ years *coding, administering and troubleshooting* SQL Server Integration Server Packages and SQL Server Reporting Services - 3+ years experience *monitoring, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving database performance issues, including performance tuning and optimization* using tools like Microsoft SQL Profiler, Windows Performance Monitor. - 3+ years designing, coding, tuning and administering SQL Server Analysis Services Cubes for Data Warehousing a plus. - PeopleSoft System Administration including Web Servers, Application Servers and Process Scheduler Servers on Windows environments is a plus. - PeopleSoft Security Administration, Application Designer Code Migration, Upgrade Assistant, Tax Updates, and Maintenance Packs experience is a plus. - Demonstrated understanding of the Great Plains data model, table structures, and data flow a plus. - Understanding of Great Plains security model and its interaction with SQL Server security is a plus. *Education:* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent experience. MCITP in SQL Server 2008/2012 and PeopleSoft Technical Certifications are a plus.
