*  Technical Skills : *
· Create and manage database objects according to business requirements
· Strong experience on ASM, STMM, table compression etc
· Performs database tuning and monitoring
· Monitor and audit database access
· Perform capacity planning
· Independently performs database management tasks such as controlling 
access permissions and   privileges
· Responsible for ensuring that storage, archiving, backup and recovery 
procedures are functioning   correctly. Writes database documentation, 
including data standards, procedures and   definitions for   the data 
dictionary.
· Train users on database methodologies. Responsible for refining the 
'logical design' so that it can   be translated into a specific data model 
and further refining the 'physical design' to       meet system     storage 
requirements. Plan data flows for a new or revised database. Guide new team 
members.
· Recommend and Review Backup and Recovery Strategies for DB2. Knowledge of 
TSM essential
· Knowledge of Advanced Replication, Queuing and Streams.
· Strong in backup and recovery.
· Having experience of DR setup through various synch methods.
· Designing strategy towards Capacity Management(Growth) for DB tracks.
· Designing/Recommending Database Security and Audit Policy.
· Designing/Recommending database alerts for monitoring database 
availability and performance.
· Good working experience of configuration/troubleshooting federated 
database environment.
· Should have good experience with shell scripts.
· Ensures database integrity; schedules database backup; provides for 
database recovery
· Supports development databases including refresh from production databases
· Transfers and maintains production program code
· Assists programmers or writes conversion programs to support changes in 
database structure;      applies conversions, and verifies integrity of 
converted data
· Assists in providing twenty-four hour coverage for database support
· Maintains current procedure manuals for the maintenance of databases on 
existing systems
· Provides extensive troubleshooting aand problem solving of database and 
application        development issues for application
· Works with vendors in support of database and administration toolsets 
enhancements that are       beneficial to State applications
· Installs new and upgrades existing databases and administration toolsets; 
coordinates with     development on testing and implementing enhancements 
and new features/functions
· Assists and trains State’s application development and technical staff in 
database technologies       and methods
· Experience in design, implementation, and manipulation of database 
management systems, data      warehouses, and multidimensional databases. 
Experience with design of relational   databases and     data manipulation.
