*Position :* Project Engineer – Vendor Solutions with AVID experience *Location:* New York, NY *Duration:** 6 months +* *INTERVIEW:** phone screen; poss. face-to-face/Skype* *START DATE:** 5/12/2014* Project Engineer role is in managing the vendor solution projects. The Project Engineer will be responsible for implementation, execution and delivery vendor systems with integration onto the client’s technology platform. *Essential Responsibilities:* - Key resource for working with vendors to custom the 3rd party systems and configurations - Perform system configuration, administration and setup - Track vendor application functions development progress ensuring compliance with requirement and timelines - Work with vendors, infrastructure team, IT and software integration team to implement the solutions - Perform unit, volume, security, network, redundancy and overall system testing - Work with vendor to resolve defects - Develop deployment plan and work with application support team on support process and post deployment support - Understand, advise and escalate project issues to management - Provide L3 support role post rollout - Facilitate cooperation between IT, Engineering, internal clients, and external vendors - Assist software integration team on infrastructure impediments - Manage and support the development systems and environment - Work with Application Support team to implement applications and systems monitoring tools - Provide training to business trainer and application support team - Work with business to train and transition users to the new systems - Risk Mitigation and disaster recovery planning - Assist in installation planning of technical equipment - Any assigned duties *Basic Qualifications:* - *Degree in Computer Science/Engineering and equivalent work experience* - *3+ years of managing technology projects and dependencies in a dynamic environment * - *Must have experience with Avid* - Experience with complex broadcast infrastructure environments (Load Balancers, Firewalls, Network, SANs, NAS, VMs, LTOs, Feed/Tape Ingests) - Experience in a collaborative, team-driven software/web engineering environment - Experience gathering and developing system requirements - Minimum 5 years working with IT systems, with a solid understanding of network protocols and standards (e.g. DNS, TCP, HTTP, FTP, SSH) - Understanding of software, middleware, hardware architecture - Team player with strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills - Self-motivated & accountable, with a high level of commitment to responsibility - Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills *Desired Characteristics:* - Experience with broadcast production or video production systems, including non-linear editing tools - Experience with Avid Interplay MAM platform and iNews platform - Experience with high-volume data migration projects - Experience with Avid server systems including ISIS and Interplay - Experience with Linux, Windows server and desktop platform - Experience with video ingest and dubbing technologies - Experience in video transcoding technology - Experience in video archiving technology - Experience with 360 systems or other monitoring tools - Experience with facility assets management system Thanks and Regards Andy Talent Acquisition Team Glomark International LLC Direct: 908-333-5191 Fax: 908-688-8831*Email: *a...@glomark-llc.com / *Gtalk: * *glomarka...@gmail.com* <glomarka...@gmail.com> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "US_IT.Groups" group.
