description: Our client is in need of a Network Engineer to come in for 3 months and provided network impact assessments and network design and build specifications for all new projects. This role will be responsible for reviewing technology transition plans and envisions network architecture implications, making recommendations and adjusting architectural standards and documentation as necessary.
Responsibilities: * Provide leadership in
the design of enterprise class networking solutions * Utilize strong
analytic skills to gather solution requirements and build into proposals of work
and implementation plans. * Work with the
Technology Solution Engineering team develop repeatable, Value-added Solutions
for * Analyze the impact of
the various projects on the baseline network environment, and consider the
incremental and aggregate impacts on the future networking
environment. * Prepare and propose
adjustments to the current and planned network environment to insure service
levels can be maintained and new services can be
accommodated. * Assist in the
integration of solutions into the network

Requirements: * Significant
experience and knowledge of blended technologies that rely on networking but
integrate with systems and applications to provide an end to end

Computing * Ability to Analyze
and assess structure and behavior of existing network systems, including
interior and exterior routing, communications links, QoS, multicast, traffic
shaping, load balancing, tag switching, traffic compression and other core
network systems. * Using appropriate
management, monitoring and analysis tools, provide technical examination of
structure, performance and operation of individual network components,
sub-networks or sub-systems as required. * In-depth technical
knowledge of Cisco products and the strategic direction of networking
technologies. * Ability to travel

Certifications (CCNP, CCDP, etc…) * Strong interpersonal
and communication skills * Ability to work well
in a fast paced collaborative environment * Expertise with
developing complex network design documents and presentations (PowerPoint and
Visio) * Excellent written and
oral English communication and presentation skills. Outstanding documentation
skills * Complete
understanding of interior and exterior routing and switching protocols, DNS,
DHCP, proxy functions (forward and reverse), security protocols (IPSec, SSL,
etc.), time protocols (e.g. NTP), tag and label switching, real-time protocols
for voice (Skinny, SIP, H.323, MGCP), etc. Thorough understanding of WAN
communications protocols including MPLS, DWDM, OC carrier,
etc. * Expertise and
extensive experience with Cisco Firewalls, Catalyst switches, Load Balancers
(Ace/F5), VOIP implementations and customer
integration. * Strong knowledge and
experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio,
Project) Highly Desirable
Requirements (must possess working knowledge of a majority of the
following): * Provide
implementation, maintenance and planning support in connection with
deployment/maintenance of network and blended
solutions. * Lead the development
of guidelines relating to all aspects of network operations
support. * Ability to monitor
network performance and resolve performance and connectivity
issues. * Familiarity with WIFI
802.11 technology. * Provide fourth level
support in connection with the resolution of major network
issues. * Provide support in
the effort to maintain 100% accurate network
documentation. * Maintain deep
knowledge of technology capabilities and product roadmaps of major network
vendors, specifically Cisco * Expertise with packet
capture and interpretation of network traffic * Expertise with a wide
range of WAN/LAN Network Topologies (Ethernet, WAN, MPLS and
Wireless) * Use of network
mapping and packet crafting tools to diagnose network
problems * Ability to use
Windows and interfaces to client/server
applications * Working knowledge of
network management tools. * Working knowledge of Windows/UNIX Operating Systems Preferable Requirements (candidates with the following will receive preference) * Bachelor’s degree
and/or Six or more years of experience as a Network Engineer, Network
Architect * Recent experience
designing and implementing a Microsoft Lync based UCC solution for a global
company * In-depth
understanding of SIP-based networking solutions and VoIP/PSTN
