*Description*
The Unix Engineer will be responsible for the design and day to day
operations of UNIX and / or Linux environment including Oracle WebLogic
server. He / She will be expected to provide architecture solutions and
enhancements for the environments, maintain and configure SUN, HP hardware,
UNIX operating system, Linux operating system, maintain Zones, Oracle
fusion middleware components and maintain Oracle environments in
geographically dispersed data centers.
*Key responsibilities include:*
Systems analysis will be performed to proactively predict and detect
systems errors in order to ensure maximum uptime and service quality.
Requires working closely with other IT groups in the areas of throughput
analysis, problem solving, and infrastructure planning.
Strong Solaris knowledge in middlewaretechnologies such as:
WebLogic 10.X
WebSphere 6/7
Tomcat
SunOne,
DSEE7
*Knowledge of Jumpstart and Kickstart.*
A strong ability to produce infrastructure documentation including
architectural diagrams
*Required Skills:*
Strong Shell scripting skills for automation.
Strong Solaris administration skills, including free/open source monitoring
tools such as Nagios.
Virtualization on SUN SPARC servers using LDOMS and zones
Experience building and configuring major Internet host/network services
including but not limited to:
Web (http, SSL, etc.)
Mail (Sendmail, etc.)
DNS
NFS
LDAP
Databases (Oracle 9i, 10g/11g,)
Java.
