Role: Network Engineer Location: Indianapolis, IN Duration: 6-12 Months Start: Immediate Interview: Phone and F2F Job Description: Client is seeking a seasoned Network Engineer to contribute to its Cloud Services Operations staff by augmenting work within current network infrastructure and assisting in plans for new infrastructure and customer environments. Qualified candidates will be highly motivated, self-starters able to operate under basic guidance. The candidate will provide setup/configuration, troubleshooting, and resolution of technical problems with the internal and/or external networks. The qualified candidate will possess excellent technical, organizational, and documentation skills. An individual must possess good team work and communication skills and be comfortable taking direction/tasks assigned by the staffed network team. Specific Duties and Accountability includes: · SolarWinds Orion NCM, NPM, IPAM, and Netflow configuration and implementation of all network devices within the platform · IP Addressing via spreadsheets and IPAM with emphasis on IPAM · SNMP configuration and validation of all network devices in all data centers · Review and update all network Visio diagrams and keep up to date · Configure and document port descriptions on network switches, firewalls, routers · Assist or establish switch/firewall templates · Document all customer B2B VPN configurations · Assist within ticketing system for incoming requests · Assist in establishing standards, policies, and procedures as they apply to the use of our technologies · Conducts network studies and traffic analysis, develops and/or assists in network architecture, and assists team in preparing network capacity forecasts · Participates in long-term network design discussions · Troubleshoots network performance issues · Resolves complex networking problems with full competency requiring no supervision · Participates in assessing emerging network technologies and architecture · Recommends and implements approved upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment · Provides technical support and guidance to other team members · Other duties as assigned by Network Manager If you believe in success and making it happen, we'd like to talk with you. Requirements include: · Excellent analysis and troubleshooting skills · Create and maintain network documentation, such as: Visio diagrams, spreadsheets, configuration templates, configuration archives, and inventory of devices and circuits (track customer/business requests in ticketing system, and must use change management system for all production changes). · Show an eagerness to learn new technologies and develop Proof of Concept scenarios · Experience with enterprise switches, routers, and firewalls, Ethernet, LAN/WAN and TCP/IP. · Understanding of high level DNS configurations · SSL certificate management · Experience with highly available network systems · Experience with applications/tools: SolarWinds Orion (NPM, NCM, IPAM), NetFlow, SNMP (and syslog configuration and analysis), packet analysis (i.e. Wireshark), and vulnerability assessment tools · Ability to work in a team and individually · Strong time management skills and multitasking abilities · Excellent technical communication and professional skills · Ability to lift up to 40 lbs unassisted Desired skills: · F5 LTM/GTM versions 9.x, 10.x, 11.x · Experience implementing complex routing solutions involving BGP (ISP multihome), EIGRP, OSPF and other routing protocols · Cisco CCNP or CCNA · Linux and Windows experience preferred · Experience in a Cloud/SaaS delivery environment We provide a dynamic, challenging environment in which we get to work with some of the world's largest and most respected brands.
