Job Title: *Demandware Architect* Location: Baltimore MD Duration: 3-6 months Rate: Market Process: Phone/Skype *SUMMARY: * This role designs, codes, executes code-review, collaborates with teammates and stakeholders, completes projects both big and small, executes deployments, and offers production support for our Demandware Ecommerce platform. *Essential Duties and Responsibilities *include but are not limited to the following: • • You are well versed in the Demandware platform and will be a driving force behind launching new sites while also growing existing ones. • You are the principal implementer of new international sites; you are involved in projects throughout their lifecycle. • You have experience leading the process that takes high-level, sometimes vague, business requirements and turns them into actionable user stories. • You collaborate with teammates in many functions: creative, user experience, quality assurance, and development. • You will collaborate in brainstorming, designing and implementing new solutions, as well as suggesting tools, technologies, and best practices to improve performance and site quality. • Help us evolve. As technology continues to change how people interact with the brand it is our responsibility to not just keep up – we dictate the tempo. • As a major stakeholder in the health and well-being of the websites, there is nobody better equipped to solve production problems rapidly and correctly. You will act as one of our primary responders for emergency situations. *Technical Attributes of Ideal Candidate: *include but are not limited to the following: - You are an expert in Java, HTML, XML, JavaScript and JSON - You have supported a production Demandware platform and have experience debugging application issues. - While you spend most of your time understanding the backend integrations of Demandware, you are also interested in the modern and emerging front-end frameworks that support great user experiences. - You're comfortable describing the inner workings of a technology in prose or pictures. Your descriptions have varying levels of detail, depending on the situation -- sometimes you're talking about physical servers, sometimes it's classes or objects, and sometimes it's entire applications or APIs. In all cases, they are clear and informative. - You’re diligent in documenting and standardizing your work as necessary. - You work hard to stay current – blogs, open source contribution, technology groups – whatever it takes to allow you to not just know what’s going on, but to leverage that information into working strategies and adjustments in how you do your work. - You have experience using source control systems (Git, Subversion). You have shipped large projects working as part of a cohesive team, and you can point to them online.
